CreditMarket Index: a mean effective rate for credits on home appliances and electronics declined to 121.85%

CreditMarket Consumer Loan Index decreased to 121.85% (a mean effective rate per annum, in UAH). The information is as of 25 January 2012.

Vladimir Kompaniets, Operations Director at KreditMarket: “A mean effective rate for credits on home appliances and electronics keeps on declining. For the past two weeks from the previous calculation, only one bank from our CreditMarket Consumer Loan Index list has significantly changed its terms and conditions on granting of consumer loans. That change resulted in an incredibly strong decline of the index (the lowest value of the mean effective rate for consumer loans was 125.41% in September 2011). As we said earlier, we consider the easing of consumer crediting by banks to be a tool for promoting demand which is conventionally rather low at the beginning of a year, and to be a result of strengthening of competition among finance institutions.”
